At least one other site is using the same HTTPS binding

IIS Error: At least one other site is using the same HTTPS binding and the binding is not configured with a different certificate.

In this blog post, I’ll show you how to fix an IIS Error: At least one other site is using the same HTTPS binding and the binding is not configured with a different certificate.

Once of the most common Issues with IIS Server Is that many administrators are struggling with Is Installing and managing certificates on sites running on IIS.

Note: Before you read this post, don’t forget to visit the previous article on the topic where I’ve shown how to request and generate a certificate for an IIS Web site using Microsoft Certificate Authority.

The error message you get is listed below:

at least one other site is using the same HTTPS binding and the binding is not configured with a different certificate.

Are you sure that you want to reuse this HTTPS binding and reassign the other site or sites to use new certificate?

You can see it below as well

IIS: Site Bindings
IIS: Site Bindings

The reason you get the above error is because multiple websites are hosted on IIS (very normal) and IIS doesn’t know how to assign the certificate to a specific web site.

The fix for this error Is very simple, you need to tick the Require Server Name Indication tick box and type the name of the Website In the site binding Host Name.

IIS: Site Bindings

Once done, all you should do Is click OK and you won’t get the error message anymore.

As you could see IIS 10 makes it easy to scale and Install many sites on one Server and use a dedicated certificate for each site in a very easy, secure and scalable way.
